IN MEMORIAM IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE ROYAL ULSTER CONSTABULARY GC THE ARMED FORCES AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN THE SERVICE OF THE CROWN WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES IN THE CAUSE OF PEACE IN NORTHERN IRELAND 1969 - 2001 |
![]() |
The Ulster Ash Grove The Ulster Ash Grove has been planted as a living tribute to the members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary GC, the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve, the Armed Forces, and other organisations in the service of the Crown, who lost their lives as a result of Irish Terrorism between 1969 and 2001. The trees planted within this Ash Grove represent lives lost in the cause of peace in Northern Ireland, and these form an ever changing backdrop to the stone circle and granite pillar. The circle contains one block of stone from each County and they are placed to form a symbolic map of Northern Ireland. The stones enclose a simple granite pillar and form a small tranquil place with seats where you are invited to rest and remember those who gave their lives in the service of the people of Northern Ireland. In grateful memory of the men and women of the Royal Ulster Constabulary GC, the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve, the Armed Forces and other organisations in the service of the Crown who laid down their lives in the cause of peace in Northern Ireland. |
